We beseech Thee, O Lord, mercifully pour into our hearts Thy Holy Spirit, by whose wisdom we were created, by whose providence we are governed and maintained and whose love may kindle in us that same fire which our Lord Jesus Christ sent down upon earth earnestly desiring that it should burn brightly.

 

And so breathe in us, O Holy Spirit, that our thoughts may all be holy.

 

Act in us, O Holy Spirit, that our works, too, may be holy. Draw our hearts, O Holy Spirit, that we love but what is holy.

 

Strengthen us, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy.

 

Guard us, O Holy Spirit, that we always may be holy. Amen.
