I'm praying for my job and my finances, so I'm asking all my prayer partners to join in my prayer. I was laid off 3 weeks ago and now unemployment is trying to hold me off for 2 months. I'm trying to break the stronghold. I've always seen prayer as like a tug of war: me on one side and the devil on the other with my blessing in the middle. Sometimes my prayer just isn't strong enough so I have to have some help pulling it in and today is definitely that day. I believe in Prov 2:6 "In all my ways I shall acknowledge you & you shall direct my path. You cause me who loves you to inherit wealth that you may fill my treasures." He lost a tire and then control of the car and it flipped over many times; he was taken to Mass General and will have surgery today. Lift him up and together let us place him in the caring, healing arms of Jesus. He had a head gash, broken ribs, skin taken off his elbow, and a cracked vertebra in his neck. Today's surgery will be for the elbow and neck injuries. Jesus we trust in you that you will hold John close to your heart and protect him during and after the surgery. Requesting prayers for a boy and a girl who got engaged in the church last month and were supposed to get married next year. Suddenly no one knows what has transpired between the two and the boy refuses to get married. This stand is leading to tension in both the families. The girl’s mother who is a widow refuses to take this shame and we fear she might do something to herself which she says she will do. Please pray for my nephew, Ben S. who just found out that he has bone cancer in left shoulder and arm. He will have some more tests done tomorrow to see if the cancer has spread. We are hoping that he won't have to have his arm amputated and are praying that the cancer has not spread and that his prognosis is not bad. Please also pray that he will have the strength to endure his treatment, which will probably include chemo, surgery and maybe radiation. Also, his mother - Annette needs prayers to be strong for her son. She has been hysterical since learning that he has cancer as any mother would. Also, please pray for Adam - Ben's younger brother who has been having spinal pains. The doctor says that he needs to be scanned as well in light of his brother's bone cancer. Lastly, please pray for my mother-in-law Theresa D. who is very close to Ben and is the mother of Annette. She is having a hard time as well and needs strength.
